Trent College has had another very strong year of A Level results. 86% of entries were awarded A* to B grades. The total number of A* to A grades awarded to pupils was 63%.
In BTEC Sport, all pupils achieved at least one Distinction, the equivalent of an ‘A’ at A Level. It has also been another strong year for EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) results with nearly 50% of pupils earning A* to A grades in their independent research projects.
Mr Penty, Head of Trent College, said, “Once again our pupils have achieved some exceedingly strong results. Their achievements are even greater in light of the extraordinary journey they have been on over these past two years of COVID adjustments and restrictions. This cohort has been more adversely impacted by the pandemic than any other.
These results are based on a very considerable amount of evidence over time, and the pupils have had to work exceedingly hard to cope with the challenges they have been presented with. I hope that they are as proud of what they have achieved as I am.
I would also like to emphasise the deep debt of gratitude owed to the teaching staff. They have had to adapt in so many ways, and the responsibility and scale of the task of arriving at thoroughly evidenced and appropriate grades cannot be underestimated.
I congratulate a wonderful year group on all that they have achieved throughout their time at the school, both academically and across the huge range of other areas in which they have excelled. Their final years of school have not passed in a way that any of them or us could have wished, but these outcomes mean that they can progress to the next stages of life with confidence. They leave with my admiration and warmest best wishes for the bright futures that certainly lie ahead of them.”
