STARTING AN ELMS EDUCATION

The focus on the individual sets The Elms apart. Children starting primary school in our Reception year are nurtured by expert Early Years teaching staff. Their skills and experience unlock the full potential of each child and build educational foundations both inside and outside the Reception class.

MODERN OUTLOOK TO LEARNING

The recently refurbished Reception learning space includes spacious areas, dedicated reading space, a separate creative zone plus shared play areas both inside and outside. The free-flow design allows children to flourish in their learning as they move openly between activities and techniques best suited to them. All of this is situated within The Elms Lower School building.

Smooth Transition

The Elms prides itself on it’s in-depth transition programme when a child joins Reception. Before their very first day of school your child’s teacher will visit them in their home, nursery or pre-school. We offer stay and play visits plus many other opportunities to visit us, ensuring every pupil and parent will have a great sense of familiarity with the school, the teachers and the community.

ISI Inspection Report 2021

EYFS children’s relationships with adults are excellent. Younger pupils behave very well and develop a good degree of independence. They become confident, creative, and persevering learners.
