Strong Relationships

We want to build a relationship with your family as a whole. A strong partnership between parents and staff ensures consistency of care and will have a positive impact on your child’s development.

Excellent Communication

We pride ourselves on maintaining excellent communication channels with our children’s parents. You will receive regular updates on the Tapestry Care Diary about your child’s time in Nursery and Pre-School, which will include details of their eating, sleeping and activities.

KEY PERSON

Every child has a dedicated key member of staff, a personal point of contact who oversees your child’s care and development. You will see them regularly and meet on a more formal level each term.

Flexibility

We understand busy families and offer flexible timings alongside our term-time only or 51 week care options. We are open from 7.30am to 6.30pm with standard hours from 8am to 5pm. The Nursery and Pre-School are shut on Bank Holidays and during the Christmas/New Year period. When a child joins Pre-School at The Elms, 15 hour and 30 hour funded places are accessible, subject to availability.

HEALTHY MEALS

Children are served healthy, nutritious and freshly prepared food from our on-site catering facility including breakfast, snack and a well-balanced lunch for those children who are with us for a full day. We are very proud that The Elms and Trent College has received a ‘Department for Education Healthy Schools Award’ and also has a five-star environmental health rating. All dietary and individual needs are discussed upon entry to the Nursery and Pre-School.

Termly parent meetings are a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress.

Transition meetings ensure parents are involved in when their child moves to the next room.

Parents and families can attend a variety of Nursery & Pre-School events, from parties to picnics.

We have found the Tapestry System to be a brilliant tool to keep in touch with the staff and to see what has been happening on a daily basis.
