DAILY ROUTINES

The days are structured to focus on caring for and educating the whole child. A varied schedule develops all aspects of a child’s character through imaginative play, hands-on activities and both indoor and outdoor learning.

Each day at The Elms is unique with different activities and opportunities for the children to enjoy.  We recognise each child as an individual and incorporate a family’s needs into their child’s routine, but to give you a flavour of a day in the Nursery and Pre-School, we have compiled the below examples:

11.10-11.40 Carpet time story, singing, dough disco or R time (Personal and Social Education programme)
11.40-11.50 Keyworker group time to evaluate morning and prepare for lunch
Lunch
13.20-15.10 Register and review visual timetable to introduce the afternoon child-led activities (indoor and outdoor)
15.10-15.20 Tidy up time
15.20-16.00 Story/singing followed by outdoor play and goodbyes to children leaving at this point

In addition to the typical daily routine, Pre-School children also visit specialist teachers at The Elms for lessons in dance/drama, PE, Music, Forest School, Library and Languages.
