Contemporary Careers Centre

Our Careers Centre provides an ideal setting for planning your future. Conduct your own research using the range of resources available and benefit from professional advice from our experienced qualified careers staff. From university, apprenticeships to work experience, our team can help.

Support for the next steps

We are dedicated to supporting students as they prepare for the next stage. For university applications, we guide both student and parent through the UCAS process. We equally support those considering alternate routes, such as degree-level apprenticeships, and advise all students on CV writing, application processes and interviews.

Oxbridge

If you have ambitions of studying at Oxford or Cambridge University, we provide comprehensive support to help you prepare. Academic Forum Society is led by our Director of Academic Excellence and offers specialist academic support, university visits, interview practice, applications conference and advice from current Oxbridge students.

Early Applicant Support

We offer specific tailored support to pupils applying to Medicine, Veterinary and Dentistry through weekly societies, providing a forum for them to gain skills and experience to aid their application to these competitive courses.

Speaker Programme

The Careers Speaker Programme aims to open students’ minds to new career possibilities with engaging career talks from a variety of guest speakers. Key figures from national and international universities are also invited into Sixth Form to inform and inspire students about Higher Education.

Maximising the Alumni Network

Upon leaving Trent College, you remain a valued member of the school community known as an ‘Old Trident’.  The Development & Alumni Office organises a range of professional and social networking events, tailored especially to you and helping to broaden your networking opportunities.
