SUPPORT TO FLOURISH

At The Elms we are experts in helping our pupils become the best they can be. Your child will flourish in an inclusive infant and junior school where pupils are encouraged to have a positive and inquisitive attitude to learning.

INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT

The right learning environment will help your child achieve their potential. Our teaching staff are committed to giving pupils the support they need, whether that is through one-to-one time or additional academic challenge. Children at The Elms are not left out or left behind; all are valued for their unique personalities and contribution to the school.

EXPERIENCED STAFF

All our pupils benefit from personal attention from their teachers and all infant classes are accompanied by a full-time teaching assistant. The high staff to pupil ratios enable teachers to identify each child’s strengths and any areas for improvement in order to develop personalised learning. Our focus on the individual makes children feel seen and supported, leading to boosted confidence and self-esteem.

Positive RELATIONSHIPS

Weekly Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHEE) lessons ensure pupils have a good understanding about positive relationships, social skills, valuing each other and celebrating our differences. All year groups study the same PSHEE topics, albeit with varying complexity to suit age and developmental needs. This helps us to maintain a whole school focus on key areas, including: Healthy Me, Anti-Bullying, Celebrating Difference, Dreams and Goals and Peer Relationships.
