We are delighted to welcome families for a personal tour of the school to give you a full insight into life at The Elms. A tour of The Elms will give your family the best insight into what our wonderful school has to offer, meet with our staff and pupils and see lessons in action. Mrs Faith Potter, The Elms Head is delighted to welcome you to the school and answer any questions you may have. Tours are available during the school week between 8.30am and 3.30pm. We also have a number of open events throughout the year.
Applying for a place
Once you are ready to apply for a place, applications can be made online. We will also ask to see a recent school report and request a reference from your child’s current school (where relevant) to give us a feel for their passions, interests and how they would access the curriculum at The Elms.
Once registered we would love to invite your child to join us for a taster session. Children considering joining Pre-School or Reception will be invited in for a morning stay and play session in The Elms Pre-School, those joining Year 1 to 6 would join us a fun filled day to experience a normal day of lessons at The Elms. This is a fun and relaxed opportunity to experience life at the school, make friends and have an introduction to our specialist teaching.
For entry to Reception children will also have the opportunity to experience a number of exciting adult-led activities within our early year’s unit, as well as meeting new friends and enjoying the range of facilities inside and outside the classroom. Whilst with us for their Taster session children will meet with one of our Reception Teachers who will spend time getting to know your child in their new environment.
Following your child’s visit to The Elms a holistic view of each child’s application will take place, using all the information gathered from the taster day, assessments and school reports to make a final decision on the offer of a place. Mrs Potter or our Admissions Manager will contact you directly with feedback and outcomes.
