Miss Philippa Braddow will be Head of Year 7 in September 2022. She is looking forward to meeting the children during the Discovery Morning, interviews and on the day of the entrance exam.

Discovery Morning

We are pleased to offer a taster morning on Saturday 13th November. This will run from 9:30am until 12:30pm, and will include some taster lessons, mini sports activities and lunch for the whole family. Please click the link below to book a place if you have not already done so.

Entrance exam

Children will take the entrance exam at Trent College on the morning of Saturday 29 January 2022. Exact details will be confirmed for all candidates, but typically this runs from 9:00am until 12:45pm. Follow the link below for more details, useful resources and example questions.

INTERVIEWS

Interviews will be held on the morning of Saturday 15th January 2022, with specific timeslots allocated in advance. One of our experienced and friendly staff will have a 1:1 chat with each child, asking about their family, interests, school life and hopes for the future. Children will be asked to complete a personal statement in advance, giving them a preview of some of the questions that will come up.

Scholarship Assessments

Scholarships are awarded for excellence in the fields of Academic ability, Art, Drama, Music & Choral and Sport. They recognise a student’s specific flair and aptitude and identify potential for development. Choice of Year 7 Language

Children will study one modern foreign language in Year 7 and can choose from French, German or Spanish. Most children will continue with this language through to GCSE. SCHOOL UNIFORM AND SHOP

Full details of the required school uniform and sports clothing will be made available in Spring 2022. All branded items are available from the onsite School Uniform Shop as well as on the supplier’s website. We highly recommend booking your appointment for a fitting during the summer term, to ensure that all items can be ordered in time for the start of the school term.

Boarding in year 7

Boarding can provide routine and structure for your child to maximise their learning time, whilst offering a unique model of support, encouragement, flexibility and integration. Living a distance from school is no longer the primary reason families choose boarding, with 80% of the weekly and flexi boarders at Trent living within a 45 minute drive-time of school.
