As Head of Art and Photography, Mrs O’Hare takes the lead in developing and nurturing artistic talent through specialist teaching from Year 7 through to Sixth Form.
Artistic credentials
Mrs O’Hare has a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art in addition to a PGCE qualification. The skills she brings to the Art studio are broad and diverse, ranging from painting, drawing and mixed media to print and photography with darkroom practices.
Mrs O’Hare primarily teaches GCSE and A Level classes, helping Art and Photography students to reach their full potential at the most important stages of their education. She has a wealth of experience in preparing pupils for Art-based Higher Education courses by supporting them with applications and portfolio building.
Supporting Sixth Form
Mrs O’Hare has been a teacher for over 20 years and a Head of Department for half of her teaching career. Beyond the Art and Photography department, she also supports Sixth Form students from a pastoral perspective in her role as Form Tutor.
A record of success
The highlight of Mrs O’Hare’s career at Trent continues to be the excellent results her pupils consistently achieve at GCSE and A Level. Her favourite event on the school calendar is the end of year Art & Photography Show, which celebrates pupil work in Years 9 to 13.
