2025 A Level results

  • Over a third of all entries achieved A* or A grade (35.9%)
  • More than two thirds of entries have been awarded A* to B grades (68%)
  • 100% pass rate at A Level

Celebrating today are:

  • Yusef Al-Habaibeh who achieved 4 A* (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths) and will now read Medicine. Yusef said “I’m thrilled to have achieved four A* grades at A Level. It still doesn’t feel real. It has been a challenging but rewarding journey, and I’m grateful for the support and encouragement from my parents. I’m proud to be one of two students to have achieved four A*s. Never give up on your dreams and always trust your abilities.”

 

  • Maia Gormley achieved 4 A* (Computer Science, Physics, Maths, Further Maths)

 

  • Henry Crocker achieved 2 A* and 2A (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths) and will now read Chemical Engineering. Senior Prefect Henry said, “I’m happy with my results, although I feel I could have done better, I’m happy with the outcome. My time at Trent has been excellent and I’ve especially enjoyed all the co-curricular opportunities open to me. I feel confident and excited about my future.”

 

  • Daniel Conway achieved 2 A* and 1 A (German, Mathematics, Physics) and A in his EPQ. Senior Prefect Daniel will now read Aeronautics and Astronautics at Southampton. Daniel said, “I’m so pleased. I can’t believe I’ve been at Trent for 11 years, I’ve really enjoyed my time here and it’s felt like home. It will be strange to not return in September but I’m looking forward to going to Southampton.”

  • Nikhil Bhanot has achieved 2 A* and 1 A (Chemistry, Biology, Maths) and A* in his EPQ, and will now study Medicine at Liverpool. Nikhil said, “I am really pleased and want to thank all the teachers for their support to help me achieve this. I’m so happy with the results and my time here.”

  • Russell Carmichael who achieved 1 A*, 2 A (Chemistry, Economics, Maths). Senior Prefect Russell, who also represented Leicester Tigers Academy, said, “I’ve achieved what I expected and that was down to some really hard work and the support of the teachers who you get to build good personal relations with. Now I will go on to read Economics at Nottingham.”

  • Kareena Gandhi 1 A *, 2 A (Economics, Physics, Mathematics) and A in her EPQ. Head of school Kareena will now read Management (Accounting and Finance) at Manchester. Kareena said “I’m really happy. Trent is special because of the care shown by the teachers, something I’ve always appreciated. My lasting memory of being here will be all the opportunities I’ve been given. CCF, DofE, my EPQ, that’s why I really love Trent because you can achieve results and do so much more, as well as having all the care from your teachers.”

 

Head of Trent College, Mr Bill Penty said, “Our students’ hard work and talent are demonstrated by today’s published results. I fully congratulate them on their achievements. Our students have not only achieved these strong exam results, but also a wide range of other achievements within Trent College, which have prepared them with vital skills such as resilience, leadership, critical thinking and self-confidence, which will enable them to go on and flourish in a modern world.

“Our vibrant Sixth Form adds significant value to our pupils’ outcomes as demonstrated by the Department for Education’s ‘Value Added’ Progress Scores, where our Sixth Form is rated ‘Well Above Average’.

“I’d like to thank our community of parents and their wider families and our dedicated teaching staff for all that they have done, and all that they continue to do for our school. “

Along with the rigours of A Level studies and extra-curricular pursuits, 8 students took on the challenging Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) with 100% of students achieving A-C. Today also saw the publication of BTEC results. Trent College student George Beacham achieved Distinction * in BTEC Level 3 Business, Distinction in National Diploma in Sport alongside his A Level in Geography. George is now heading to Australia to play cricket in Melbourne.
