Miss Longmuir
Nursery Leader
Joined The Elms: 2015
Miss Longmuir is the Nursery Leader at The Elms Nursery & Pre-School. She oversees the Nursery’s two baby rooms and toddler room. Together with her experienced team of nursery staff, she ensures that children from six weeks to four years old receive the nurturing care they need to flourish as they grow and play.
Highly Experienced
With 16 years of working in childcare and a first class honours degree in Education, Miss Longmuir is well equipped with the knowledge and experience to help Nursery children develop their physical, social and communication skills.
Since Miss Longmuir joined the The Elms, there have been two inspections (2018 and 2022) by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). For both visits, the Nursery was awarded the highest inspection rating of ‘Outstanding’.
Outdoor Learning
Miss Longmuir is passionate about the benefits of outdoor learning and encouraging children to discover nature for themselves. After running The Elms’ Outdoor Adventure Club for pupils in years 3 to 6, she trained to become a Forest School practitioner and now runs weekly Forest School sessions in the school’s onsite woodland.
Out of school hours, Miss Longmuir likes to unwind with regular yoga practice. She also loves listening to rock music.
