Mrs Nelson

Assistant Head – Director of Studies

joined Trent College: 2011

As the Assistant Head – Director of Studies at Trent College, Mrs Nelson, oversees internal examinations, reporting and appraisal of Heads of Departments. This is an integral role within the school as we strive to provide our students with the highest quality of education. In addition to this position, Mrs Nelson led a successful Geography department for 5 years and still teaches the subject to multiple age groups.

Industry Expert

Mrs Nelson attended the University of Nottingham where she completed her Bachelor of Science Geography degree, and joined Trent College straight after her studies where she has accrued 12 years of experience in teaching geography. Mrs Nelson’s experience made her a great addition to the Duke of Edinburgh staff, supporting the participating students with their development of map-reading and route planning skills.

Highlights at Trent

One of Mrs Nelson’s highlights at Trent is leading the Iceland school trip in October 2017, her passion for geography made this trip an exciting opportunity to bring her teaching to life. Moreover, Mrs Nelson loves sport and physical activities, she has coached multiple hockey teams at Trent as well as being involved in a ski trip to France.

Mrs Nelson is driven by organisation and ticking off her to-do list, and the only thing she enjoys more is working with staff and children alike who share the same motivation.
